Preview: Britains Got Talent Final 2009

Tonight sees short priced favourite Susan Boyle in the final of Britain’s Got Talent 2009. There have been all sorts of media speculation as to whether the final would even go ahead with Susan Boyle due to the apparent pressure on the 48 year old church goer.

Boyle has been the star of the series so far with huge appearances on ‘Oprah’ over in America. However, there has been a lot of negative press towards Boyle recently after reports of her walking out after Piers Morgan claimed Shaheen Jafargholi was the best singer in the competition. Boyle is currently 10/11 to win tonight but has stiff competition in dance act Diversity.

Diversity were available at generous odds of 20/1 earlier this week and are now 10/1 along with Flawless. Diversity are my personal favourites, they are full of energy, incredibly creative with their chorography and have children in their group which always works well with the voting public.

Aidan Davis, currently trading at 9/2 on the exchanges is a young dancer and has a fair chance of winning but with his routine being similar to that of last year’s winner George Sampson I feel the British public may want a change.

Stavros Flatley the 8/1 Greek father and son duo are a fun act to watch but their routine can become repetitive and unless they add something new I think their journey will come to an end.

Saxophonist Julian Smith was the last act to make it through to the final. Julian seems like a lovely guy and has a nice way about him; he’s currently available at 12/1.

25/1 shot Hollie Steel had a disastrous performance in the semi-final and had to beg the judges for another opportunity to perform after being overcome with nerves mid-performance. She probably wouldn’t have made it into the final if it wasn’t for the sympathy vote.

Outsiders at 33/1 are 2 Grand, a grandfather/daughter act with a heart-warming story behind them. While they’re not the best singers in the world they captured the love of the British public and deserve their place in the final.

About Me

My Picture

Hi, I’m Dave; a 24 year old semi-professional gambler. I live in London, England and have been gambling online since 2004. I make a large part of my living betting on football matches and horse racing on the betting exchanges. I placed my first bet when I was 11 years old when I backed Superior Finish in the 1996 Grand National. I didn’t win that day but the thrill of betting has had me hooked ever since. In the past 12 months I’ve made over £24,000 from sports betting with my biggest single win coming on Kauto Star in the Cheltenham Gold Cup when I scooped £5,000.
